It is easier and quicker to manage appointments and request repeat prescriptions via our online service. Simply log in and follow the instructions to make your selection.

All consultations are by appointment only – The surgery hours may be changed if the Doctor is on holiday, sick or on study leave.

Our appointment system operates, both for your convenience and to aid the doctor, and should be one patient, to one appointment, and one problem, each appointment is 10 minutes. Appointments may be made online, by telephone or in person. Please make one appointment for each member of the family who needs to be seen. We try to keep to time but please be patient if someone before you takes longer than planned.

Appointments are normally ten minute slots and so if you have a complicated problem, or more than one problem, please ask for a double appointment.

It is Practice policy to allow patients to choose whichever doctor they wish to attend in the Practice.

Please help us

If you have been unable to get an appointment it may be that it was taken by somebody who then failed to attend!. If you have made an appointment and no longer need it, please help us and other patients by letting us know, as it can then be given to someone else. Persistent defaulters maybe removed from the list, if you are more than 10 minutes late you will need to re-book another appointment, and we not be able to see you on that day. However, if you are able to telephone in advance the receptionist may be able to offer you an alternative time.

Practice Nurse

Are available Tue/am & Thurs, am/pm Fri pm she is able to deal with Cervical smears, Travel advice and immunisation, Diabetic checks, BP checks, Asthma/COPD checks, Childhood immunisations, Smoking cessation, NHS Health Checks and Over 75 health checks.

Routine Appointments

Please remember phone lines are very busy in the morning, so when you want to book a non-urgent appointment please try to phone in the afternoon. Do try to give as much notice as possible. Please be punctual for your appointment, if you are over 10 minutes late you may not be able to be seen on that day. Please DO NOT blame the receptionist if the doctor is running late for your appointment, or if she is unable to offer you just what you want. She is operating the system according to the doctors’ instructions. Remember she is trying to do a very difficult and demanding job and is often working under extreme pressure.

If you cannot attend your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so that the appointment may be offered to another patient whose need may be urgent.

Patients are now able to book appointments online. Please speak to the receptionist for an application form to be issued with a username and password. Alternatively, please submitt the online request. Please note, you will also need to produce two forms of identification, one should be photograhpic, when you attend the Practice, before we can issue you with your user name and password. If you are known to the staff you will not require identification.

Urgent appointments

If you feel your problem is urgent and cannot wait for a routine appointment you will be offered an appointment on the same day. However, if the doctor considers the problem can wait they may ask you to make a routine appointment. You are unable to specify which doctor you see for an urgent appointment, it will be the doctor that is available on that day.  The doctor will not issue a sick note on an emergency appointment. The time you are offered for an emergency appointment is an arrival time and not an appointment time so you may have to wait to see the doctor on that day.

Telephone Advice

There are often times when a little advice from a doctor or a nurse about a health problem or medication is all that is needed.  Please telephone the surgery to book a telephone consultation with a doctor.  These telephone appointments are after morning surgery each morning and will be with the doctor on call that day.

Interpreting Services

The Practice has access to Language Line, which is a telephone service that aids us in the interpretation of different languages. We are able to book the services of an interpreter to help during consultations – this service needs to be booked in advance. Please indicate to a receptionist if you need assistance.
